The financial crisis which began in 2008, continued to impact global M&A activity in 2009 with deal volume and value rescinding 2 per cent and 15 per cent, respectively year-on-year.
Globally a total of 64,981 transactions worth USD 3,621 billion were signed off in 2009 compared with 66,472 deals at a value of USD 4,242 billion in 2008.
