Keeping track of activity in both greenfield foreign direct investment (FDI), and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) has always involved navigating at least two data-sources.
And, with the merging of datasets that this entails, this can be a major headache, says David East, head of FDI and economic products at Bureau van Dijk, in this video.
This problem explains some of the motivation behind David's work in helping to create a new product, Orbis Crossborder Investment.
Orbis Crossborder Investment looks at globalization via projects and deals, and delivers information on the companies behind these investments – both listed and private. It tracks information daily, and monitors announced, completed and cancelled/withdrawn projects and deals, as well as rumours and intentions. It includes information on greenfield FDI projects and crossborder M&A deals.
Find out more in the video. Louise Green, Bureau van Dijk's chief marketing officer, chats to David about the work behind Orbis Crossborder Investment, the problems it solves and the many benefits it brings.
