Wrapping up an award-winning year

As 2020 draws to a close Bureau van Dijk ends the year on a high, contributing to Moody’s Analytics’ overall second place ranking in the Chartis RiskTech100 for 2021. Chartis RiskTech100 is globally acknowledged as the most comprehensive independent study of the world’s major players in risk and compliance technology. Moody’s Analytics also won several of the 2021 Chartis RiskTech100 categories, while the Chartis RiskTech Quadrant 2021 acknowledged us as KYC/AML Category Leader for the Orbis database, Grid and the Compliance Catalyst platform.

This ranking was one of many awards and accolades Bureau van Dijk has enjoyed this year. For the third consecutive year, Orbis, the resource for entity data, was named winner of the Best Entity Data Solution at the Data Management Insight Awards for leading providers of data management solutions and services.

Orbis was in the spotlight over and again this year, helping Moody’s Analytics to win Credit Data Provider of the Year at the Risk Technology Awards 2020, which highlight companies that are doing most to help the industry meet its various challenges in the fields of anti-money laundering, credit and operational risk, as well as wider enterprise risk management.

2020 also saw Orbis named Best Data Solution for KYC in the RegTech Insight Awards. Bureau van Dijk senior director Bill Hauserman said: “We’re honoured to be recognized again. We have worked hard to make Orbis the go-to resource for company and entity data. With Orbis data, our clients are identifying risk, improving their compliance processes and helping to prevent financial crime.”

Meanwhile RDC, acquired in 2020 and now part of Bureau van Dijk, won the 2020 xCelent Customer Base award for KYC Systems. Celent said that the number of live customers using its system, and the geographic footprint and business sectors of its client base were among the factors that contributed to the win.

Following on from this 2020 success, our products have already scooped a place in the RegTech100 Awards 2021 - an annual list of 100 of the world’s most innovative RegTech companies, selected by a panel of industry experts and analysts. The list was updated for 2021 to recognize the next generation of solution providers shaping the future of the compliance, risk management and cybersecurity industries.

Our people have been in the limelight as well as our products. Earlier in the year Bureau van Dijk Managing Director, Marketing and Communications, Louise Green was honoured in the Women in Technology & Data Awards 2020, winning Reference Data Professional of the Year for the second successive year.

“Winning the award for Reference Data Professional of the Year for a second straight year was especially gratifying,” said Green. “The recognition reflected our continued success in making Orbis the resource of choice for analyzing private company data and corporate ownership.”

As we look ahead to 2021, Bureau van Dijk continues to strive to provide the best data and services to our customers.
